Sponsorship of Education Expenses for Elementary and Middle School Students at Yeongnak Borinwon

Woori Investment Securities sponsored learning expenses for children living at Yeongnak Borinwon to help reduce the learning gap and provide sufficient education.

Yeongnak Borinwon is a child welfare facility that nurtures and supports children in need of protection, helping them grow into healthy members of society. With the recent increase in the number of children requiring protection, there is a growing need for programs that strengthen their learning capabilities.
In response, Woori Investment Securities is supporting not only the improvement of basic learning skills for these children but also funding educational programs in areas such as art and Taekwondo, which help develop individual talents and assist in their independence. We are committed to continuing our social efforts to bridge the educational gap, ensuring that children under protection can continue their studies with quality learning content.

Sponsorship for the Growth and Development Support Program for Children Awaiting Adoption at Dongbang Social Welfare Association

Woori Investment Securities is committed to fostering mutual growth with our society and ensuring a sustainable future for the next generation. We provide support for developmental rehabilitation therapy costs for children awaiting adoption.

The average period for an adopted child to find a new family is 26 to 28 months. During this time, some children with weak immune systems and slow growth require regular treatment. In response, Woori Investment Securities has provided funding for children's therapy through Dongbang Social Welfare Association. This support has enabled children in need of continuous treatment to receive developmental and rehabilitative therapies, including art and play therapy, and promote physical and emotional growth. We will continue to show greater interest and take action to help children awaiting for adoption find new families.

NEW-Start Support Kit for Adopted Children

Woori Investment Securities prepared support kits containing essential items for children awaiting adoption to help them meet new families and distributed a total of 100 kits to families from September 2021 to August 2022.

The kits included environmentally friendly tableware and nap blankets, consisting of items most needed by children. This initiative embodies our commitment to support and share with children preparing for a new start. We offer flexible working environment for employees who wish to work proactively. Additionally, we implement a PC-Off policy to prevent unauthorized overtime work. We designated every Friday a "Family Day" to discourage working beyond regular hours, maximize work efficiency, encourage personal development, and to provide work-life balance.

Health Checkups and Group Accident Insurance

To alleviate concerns about health and contribute to the well-being of employees and their families, Woori Investment Securities provides regular health checkups and group accident insurance.

Employees and one family member receive an annual health checkup, and both employees and their spouses are covered by group accident insurance. This system helps prevent work-related injuries and health issues, supporting employees to focus on recovery in case of unexpected illnesses.

Maternity and Parenting Support

For employees expecting or after childbirth, we provide 90 days of maternity leave before and after delivery to ensure adequate rest and recovery. Additionally, male employees are granted 10 days of leave when their spouse gives birth.

We offer a parental leave period of 21 months, which exceeds the legal requirement of one year, allowing employees to focus on child-rearing after childbirth. Our policies also guarantee job security and prevent any adverse treatment related to parental leave.
We are also attentive to the childcare needs of employees’ children. We offer congratulatory payments for births and support for children's education expenses, helping to alleviate financial burden.

"822 Energy Saving Challenge" for Energy Day

In celebration of Energy Day on August 22, Woori Investment Securities launched the "822 Energy Saving Challenge," a campaign encouraging all employees to participate in energy-saving activities.

The challenge included missions such as commuting by public transportation instead of cars, using stairs instead of elevators, maintaining an indoor temperature of 26˚C, using tumblers instead of disposable cups, using handkerchiefs instead of paper towels, and walking more than 10,000 steps a day. By engaging in these activities from morning to evening, employees actively reduced energy waste and conserved energy.

We also set up a real-time open chat room for sharing photos of completed energy-saving missions, fostering a company-wide sense of solidarity. This initiative led to enthusiastic participation from all departments and employees, raising awareness about energy conservation. We will continue our efforts to reduce energy usage through ongoing engagement and practical actions.

Resource Recycling Campaign
"Gifts We Give to the Earth"

The "Gifts We Give to the Earth" campaign is Woori Investment Securities' initiative to extend the lifespan of unused items and support underprivileged communities through donations.

To promote ESG culture and sustainable management within the Woori Financial Group, we set up a donation booth on the first floor of the Woori Financial Digital Tower, making it easy for employees to contribute during their commute. Over 300 employees participated in the donation, practicing the value of sharing. Items such as clothing, accessories, books, and electronics were collected, which helped reduce approximately 82 kg of CO2 emissions—equivalent to the amount absorbed by ten 30-year-old pine trees in a year.
Donated items will be sold through Beautiful Store, with proceeds going to charitable projects. We are committed to continuing our ESG campaigns to enhance environmental protection and community support.

Resource Conservation Campaign

As of the third quarter of 2023, we have set a goal to reduce paper usage by 10% compared to the first quarter and have achieved a 12.7% reduction at Seoul headquarters.

Departments that meet the reduction goals are rewarded with air-purifying plants to encourage active participation. We will continue our comprehensive efforts to enhance awareness and practice of environmental protection and resource conservation.
